What is church membership?
Church is not an event we attend, but a community we join. Church membership is a formal way Christians partner together to be the body of Christ as we do the work of Jesus Christ.
Why Join a Church?
Make your faith public
Church membership allows you to display the life changing power of Jesus together with others. As members we publicly identify with Christ by committing to a body of His followers.
Connect to a Caring Community
Church membership formally connects you to to the love, instruction, encouragement, and care of our church community as we follow Christ together through the highs and lows of life.
Live out Christ’s Mission
Church membership joins you to a united, organized, intentional effort to obey Christ’s Great Commission with far greater effectiveness than we could do alone.
Pathway to Membership
Becoming a member of Calvary Baptist involves three steps.

“Discover Calvary” Class
This informational class will discuss salvation, baptism, and Church membership. You will discover the beliefs, history, and purpose of the church as well as the benefits and responsibilities of church membership. You will have an opportunity to get all your questions answered. The class meets for three sessions that each last an hour.

Share Your Salvation & Baptism Story
After completing “Discover Calvary,” you will share your salvation testimony and story of your baptism by immersion with one of our church leaders. If you have not been baptized by immersion after your salvation, you will be able to request baptism.

Congregational Affirmation
Following the completion of the first two steps, a church leader will recommend you to the church members for a vote of affirmation.
